birthday gatherings, birthday friends, birthday food, birthday smiles, birthday burps!!!

this blog is more or less... dead... well...its still resuscitating from... a very very long... very very.... extended.... stone-ness...
gosh oh gosh.. i've never been busier... i think... i mean for work... overseas student exchange trip... exams.. open house, markings... moving offices... dance showcases... choreographies... (erm.. we are talking about 6 items yah!!!) and i am not even half done with most of them... and my birthday falls in the midst of all these madness... and the only comforting thing is... EATING!!! i know... its not healthy.. but... i am eating for a reason.. hahahha for a few actually... i am eating for staying alive and eating to be happy, eating to relieve stress and eating to celebrate my birthday (over a few days of cos!)... eating with loved ones to have a merry good time!!! YAAAYYY...
this post will probably be dedicated to F O O D and F R I E N D S and F O O D!!!!

Dinner @ AKASHI with my working colleagues... it was also a farewell dinner for dear Mr Raufie, who is migrating to Auckland with his family!




The food was YummiE!!! i had the teriyaki beef set... S$18++, totally worth the price... it was tender and tasty... melting moments... ahahhaha... heard from the mates tat the tuna belly was yummy too!

I was completely STUFFED!!!
My first ice cream birthday cake for a long long time.. the last i had one for my birthday was probably in 2001...

The cake was so HARD that it took 3 persons to STAB it!!!!first myself, then Mei Sing, then Wang Jiunn (Science teacher), then Jacqui, the one with the STRENGTH!!!

My hearty english breakfast... the mushrooms were juicy, just like the way i love it... the eggs were fresh and perfectly prepared... i miss england!!!! makes me miss uk more and more *sob sob*

Then... the following day.. it was birthday dinner with my family... we went to Royal China at raffles... i always wanted to try there.... main reason.... for i miss AROMATIC CRISPY DUCK so very very very very much!!!!

My Lobster Bisque with crispy rice cracker... This is very delicious.. the bisque was rich and flavorful!!!
And this blurry picture shows what i have been dying for.. AROMATIC CRISPY DUCK!!! unfortunately, it wasn't as yummie as the ones in london... i think the probable reason is, London uses FROZEN duck, and spore uses FRESH ducks... hmmf... oh and the pancake is not as yummie too... spore's too thick... nevertheless... at least i tried...
Right, here you go... first you lay the pancake on your plate
spread some plum sauce around with the back of your spoon..
Place some cucumber or spring onion...
pile on the aromatic crispy duck
roll it up...
take a bite!!!
Soon Hock.. fresh water fish with soya sauce.. YUM YUM.. fish was fresh and tender...
This dish was my favourite... Fried Pork Slices in Special Sauce.. a MUST HAVE!!! it has a very unique chocolatey burn taste, and the meat was exceptionally tender
Goose Web with Sea Cucumber..i avoided this... it looked too much like my finger...
My parents said that it is a tradition for birthdays to have noodles... well... they said... E-FU mee... i didn't enjoyed it that much...
We were absolutely stuffed.. well i know i was..

Once of my colleagues had his mother in law prepared this mean and dangerous looking curry.. its Assam Stingray... all i can say.. SHIOK and SPICY!!!

And of cos... what is Dim Sum without Har Kao (Steamed Prawn Dumpling). It is so exclusive that here's a saga of the pictures... Verdict: The prawns were fresh, juicy and the skin was rightfully made.


Seafood horfun... aiyo..bland until dunno like wat... baby food taste better..
and indeed...cos Ice gave a serving of her baby girl, Tasha's porridge to almost everyone...
We had some complimentary charsiew tarts...or was it chicken pie tarts... i can't remember. i didnt had any of it...

After brunch we head to orchard.. the boys were not satisfied yet... we fed them at coffee club with coffee and pies and other stuff... soon after we headed back to the east for BLOOIE's. Most of them were first-timers at blooie's, it was quite a pleasant meal... Laysie's first time here!

HeyHey Steamboat with Jamie for a very belated birthday dinner... hongkong style steamboat. i tried this very interesting dish, century egg in fishcake and thai chili sauce...
