an ethereal experience...

it was a magical experience... one that i cannot forget... Giselle's last performance at the opera house last night was magnificient. Act 2, stole my heart, broke it, and lift me up again, and brought tears to my eyes... not just me, the dear old lady beside me was in tears when the dancers took their curtain call. Despite the not so ideal casting for the Queen of the Wilies and her two sidekicks, Act 2 was top class! Leanne Benjamin as Giselle, was brilliant. She portray as a gentle and frail soul fighting for her love for Albrecht to stay alive. Her dancing was breathtaking, and she executed the entire repertoire with her superb technique with control, definition and strong emotions. No one can believe such work can be performed by a mother of one at the age of 41. BRAVA!!!! Edward Watson as Albrecht. Was utterly impressed by the tremenduous improvement from his first performance. He performed with grace, utmost artistry and attack. His tormented soul and pain was felt by the audience, and he got well-deserved sympathy from all. I have to say, his technique seemed to be more assured and stronger tonight, hahhaha maybe becos his mentor was in the audience... It was a great and meaningful night for both Leanne and Edward. Both dancers showed such strong and passionate dancing. They are like flames flickering in the dark auditorium, keeping the place warm with their dancing. It was such an amazing experience to feel what the dancers want the audience to feel. Apart from Romeo and Juliet (by Darcey Bussell and Roberto Bolle), this is another performance that nearly led me to tears, and heartbroken.... I tried to fight back the tears just before the curtain call, but i simply couldn't... It was a sold-out performance. well, it deserved to be sold-out. Thinking of it now, its like Romeo and Juliet in a way. Once you fall in love with someone, you give the person your everything (Hopefully that someone gives his everything too...) and when unfortunate events happen, and two of you cannot be together, or when one has to die... will the love for the other still lives on??? Why can't I experience lurve like tat???
Listening to Giselle Act 2 music now... The part where Albrecht walked towards Giselle's grave... ahhhh... my heart sank as low as his did... and the part where Giselle rose from her grave to dance with Albrecht, i feel all vulnerable and helpless.... and at the very very last scene.... I am already crying buckets inside my heart.... Ok... have to stop... its the weekend... cannot feel so depressed...
Did ballet class at the Royal Opera House today, in the De Valois Studio. Excellent flooring.. i did a few quaduple pirouettes, and my minimum was triple.. hahahahah.. i felt so mighty.. hahahaha.. the flooring is just brilliant. and i can jump so high on that floor.. hahahaha Looking forward to the classes next week.
need to get on with revision... speak to all soon..

almost there...

think i am almost done with finding out and researching of ed...
doesn't mean tat he is no longer favourite of the month... he still is...
just that, i think i am almost done with finding out periodicals, videos, dvds, interviews, etc...
as i was going through my findings through and through again... i realised that he is indeed a darling of the press (in UK), for being the prime and only british male principal with the royal ballet... bet his fan base gonna be big....
if he gets big-headed... i am off... tat will put me off, big time...
as for now... i am just gonna enjoy the ride, and making my remaining uk stay a fruitful and beneficial one... till the time comes when gettin to ed is miles away and hopefully, tis obsessive compulsive approach will slowly diminish... unpainfully of course..
and now... back to my psycho revision :(

sharing my LURVE

my favourite picture of the day.. hahaha
heehee... was at the linbury studio at the opera house today....
to support weiwei's performance with the southbank sinfonia. weiwei plays the viola.. :)
there were 2 japanese from the royal ballet who performed excerpts from Sleeping Beauty. Kenta Kura and Hikaru Kobayashi, both First Soloist.
Thought it was a little amusing, when kenta was performing in his shorts and tee, i thought it was normal, but the guys from the orchestra were shocked that he was dancing in his underwear..hahahaha...
and.. when i was at the reception area of linbury studio.. guess what.. i saw about 4 posters of ed watson.. heehee... couldnt resist and took picture of it.. pardon the reflection...

my friend saw it.. and say, "you will like tis.. he looks like a dracula in this." well.. INDEED...

burpDAY 2006

yes yes yes... it was my burpday yesterday, april 11th.. alas... one year older... oh well... as long as i dun feel tat old i am ok, eventhough i do look older... but nvm... can't really help it... it was a wonderful day today (cos now it's 4am on the 12th april, but i am refering to 11th april)!!!
had a most enjoyable and lovely day all to myself. the best part of the day was being alone. it's ironic isn't it.. i mean, being in london, is already being alone, but i chose to be alone on this day, just felt so. i celebrated it by walking, looking at lovely things, taking nice pictures, people watching, building admiring, and enjoying the culture and the air around me. i cannot imagine anything better than spending today with just myself alongside my ishuffle and ixus :) dun need a birthday cake... what i experienced today, was complete and full birthday present for myself... :)

motivated...and inspired

once again.. i was at the opera house, watching Royal Ballet Mixed bill...
went wif one of my housemate, lucie, and she suggested if the two of us should collaborate to do a choreography... immediately i answered yes!!!
heehee.. i was so excited and looking forward to this creative experience with a really strong choreographer...
lots of ideas are splashing about in my lil' head.. i cant wait to work on it... heehee...
will be preparing it for the graduation show.. hahaha.. it's gonna be 'wicked'!!!!
cos both lucie and i have different dance style, and movement style.. however, we have probably the same taste in certain movements... hahahaha so its gonna be a wild wild ride!!!!
