flutter flutter the fairy passes...

a lil' fairy princess drop by today to my blog and left a lil' note. very sweet and nice to hear from her/them... so i thought i should put up some of the pictures i took of this fairy princess when i was living with them for about 2 weeks...this is the time when she sings "yue-liang-dai-biao-wo-de-xin" we just came from our ballet class, and on our way to Daisy and Tom (her fave' haven) and at Daisy and Tom, she urged to put on the robe and crown.. i told her she could only put it on and stay still for as long as she wants. obediently she did, for a good 2 mins, and she said, "that's enough, take it off"
then... well, it was the world cup fever... can't help it... here she is... trying on her first ballet slippers.. awww... the lil' ballerina-to-be spinning around in the living room... and her obsession with long skirt... and when i say long... it means really really long...

exciting news!!!

1st news: remember previous few posts ago, i ecstatically mentioned that one of my student, kimberly andrews, passed her intermediate ballet exams with distinction... well, 2 of my other students who also did the same exams passed with splendid flying colours, one scored a merit, and the other scored distinction. I was terribly proud of them, and for their hard work... kimberly and rebecca, who both scored DISTINCTION, scored 77% and 80%.
2nd news:my ex-classmate, clare hamilton was at the royal opera house today, at 1pm (uk time). and she was looking at the ballet magazines, and guess who came up beside her... well, needless to say, EDWARD WATSON. here's her text message to my mobile over million of miles away...

*hi edward watson is in opera house shop with me !!!!* followed by *he was wearing jeans and trainers and he looked as though he had done class i was looking at pointe magazine and he came and stood right next to me...*
i think i probably faint at his feet if i were to be in clare's position... hahaha... it will be so surreal for me... then again... i probably can't stop myself from stealing glances at him... and just simply admire this dracula-looking human standing next to me.. hahahahaha

CARRIE BRADSHAW???

hmmf... words have gone around, and one of my ex-classmates of mine... found out about my publications on Ballet.co.uk... i was trying to keep it as mum as possible from people from school. I thought it was something embarrassing, because of my english being not articulate enough to be on par with the elite professionals of financial times, dancing times, dance europe, etc... anyway... so, she said to me... i am CARRIE BRADSHAW of the BALLET WORLD... hahahaha i thought that was funnie... and hilarious... one writes about relationship and sex... I just babble about dance... if only, i have her financial power, and her never-ending wardrobe (almost like the one in NARNIA), i probably won't complain.. hahahaha... and of cos i can do without mr BIG, or any of her guy interest, which I personally thought none of them was interesting, apart from the very 2nd last guy, Mikhail Baryshnikov... hahahaha the one who acted as the russian/french artist.

mtv movie awards 2006

i am so pleased with this year winnings for these 2 categories... BEST KISS - Heath and Jake's Brokeback Mountain, and BEST HERO - Christian Bale's BATMAN BEGINS. What kicked ass was the acceptance speech. check them out...
BEST KISS: "Thank you not for me, for all the others who are struggling with love, which is all of us"

BEST HERO: "I wanna thank him (Chris Nolan, director), for getting rid of those nipples." "My lovely wife, who is my personal Wonder Woman"

leavin' on a jet plane

simply knacked!!!! had 2 hours of sleep last nite, then when i hop on the plane to return to london, i only slept 2 hours...the worst thing, i ididn stuff my face with all the airline food that was served. to me, i couldn't finish my servings... hmmf... but the big accomplishment, i watch 5-6 movies...hahahahha.... hence i am very stonned now...

dunno wat to name tis...

HMMF... nuthing much to update really... my future flatmates, angela and her sis, karen found a nice place in fulham/putney area.. it seems like in a nice place... (well as long as no spiders)... but before i start whinging about it... i do understand that i dun have a massive budget... but i guess thats the way it is.. small budget, small room.. hmmmf.... after some calculations, and the thought tat financially i HAVE to work to pay my bills and rent... i have not a clue how am i going to afford it... well, it also a bit tricky, my dream job at royal opera house did not reply, guess i am not good enough *bye bye ed*... so i am waiting for the job search papers by the start of September to start sending out cvs and stuff.. hmmmf... i already started missing being a student... i miss the discounts and those last minute ticket deals at the opera house imagine paying purely £10 for a £90 seat!!!

red & white

went to the national day parade (for the first time) with janie and viv... feeling patriotic? hmmf oddly no... to begin with... behaviour of sporeans at the stadium... some were really inconsiderate and selfish... i dun think i wanna parade the embarassing moments online... just imagine the scenarios: giving out free goodie bags, getting a seat at the stadium..leaving and arriving at the stadium 20 mins before the parade starts... use ur wildest imagination...
anyway.. parade started.. 3 of us, went munching away, and electronically fanning ourselves... I would say, we took the outing at the parade as a picnic more than watching a parade.. hahahaha... so.. munch away we did... and watch the splendid arrangment Glen Goei did... lotsa special effects and fireworks display... lots of taxpayer money spent too... *ahem ahem* the singapore songs were singing, everyone dressed up in "uniform' red and white.. it feels like a national day in a primary school... i was in black and navy... cos i dun have any red, and white makes my boobies look big :p the fireworks display was beautiful... was short lived though... but.. better than nuthin.. then again.. i regret to say, i have seen better...

I cannot deny that we did see some awesome sunset skies (as you can tell from our photos). Last but not least, i thought it was the icing for the evening.. the moon lit sky, outside the stadium.. it showed serenity and stillness... Unfortunately i wasnt able to catch the beauty of the moon on my digicamera... but the idea is there.. it felt like a werewolf somewhere out there is just waiting to prance on YOU!!!

....

my macbook and ipod has arrived.... got a bargain for them... let's not discuss them here... anyway... getting used to using a mac, I AM A MAC VIRGIN! hmmf... its not very very nice to me... maybe i am too used to a PC... with a mac, my blogs cannot post pictures at my command, which is very very annoying, and to add to the annoyance, i cannot change color of font in my blog... i feel extremely handicapped... what should i do??? argh!!!!!! i had so much difficulties just to post my blogs!!!! and i cannot video conference on MSN... only on yahoo. hmmf... ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

BY THE WAY, THIS IS THE 88TH POST ON THIS BLOG, AND TODAY IS THE 8TH DAY OF THE 8TH MONTH OF THE YEAR. PURE COINCIDENCE!

HK / SZ

<

yeah, been there and back.... was extremely hot, it was like walking through an enormous busy oven or kitchen... i realised, that most shops had air conditioning. and so were the houses and apartments... and these air cons were built to generate hot air into the open, causing more humidity and warmth in the streets... no wonder it felt like walking through a busy kitchen with hot steam sprouting out... anyway...One thing i like about HK, the city that never sleeps.. LITERALLY... people are in the streets at midnight, with faces as bright as they were at 9pm, and the streets are extremely busy, still packed with vendors and shoppers. Giordano is opened till midnight!!! and the following morning at 8ish, 9, people are back on the streets looking all fresh and vitalised... with such extraordinary sleeping pattern, the people still managed immaculate complexion. Remarkable...
I went on a eating marathon. had constipation during the entire 5 day trip... so it was all INPUT and Negative OUTPUT. my favourite must-have food each day, was a mango drink from xuliushan and yu-dan (fishballs) from those street vendors. yums yums... had a nice refreshing drink from Mcdavis (mcdonalds) lychee drink. and my XO porky chop chuqianyiding was delicious... the dim sum was fantastic too.. those har-kao (shrimp dumplings) oh my gosh.. they were divine.. hahahaha the skin was crystal-like clear and thin, the prawns in it were huge and succelent, the multiple prawns were stuck together with an egg batter which adds extra sweetness to the dish... AAAHHHH.... divine... the shopping was ok.. lots to see, nuthing much to buy... (i was too fussy). as we (travel companion, viv and eileen), got ourselve in Central (zhong wan), we pop ourselves into ON PEDDER, cos i was so attracted by the pair of shoes on display. In we got, and i was erm... cos there was a press conference happening at the same time. I asked the manager if it was better that we came back later, as we didnt want to intrude. He was welcoming and ask us to stay for a drink and have a look around. well, we did have A LOOK around... countless TAIS TAIS, and fashionista people... I won't be surprised if we were being eyeballed... a hongkong celeb was there as well. (findin her pic now, post it later)
One thing i thought was significantly hongkongish was the architecture...
off we head to shenzhen. it was filthy and filthy... nuthin to buy there... literally nuthin... hence we spent money on manicure, and pedicure... and mineral water.. hahahaha (even the water taste filthy)... for the very first time i had manicure and pedicure... and all for just S$8.00.. why not.. and when back in HK, i had to superrush with last minute mango puddng, mango drinks shopping to bring back to loved ones.. to share the yummy food with.. and damns... i had to rush to the airport while tugging the heavy mango stuffs... i swear, i will not do that again... i almost missed my flight, it was FINAL CALL already, and i was literally the last passenger to board...
