THE WHINGING part 1

argh!!!!!!!!! i lost my independence when i am back.. i need to 'report' to people around me where i am going, what am i doing for the day, and what have i done the day before, etc...its so none of anyone's business... on top of that.. i feel like there is a million and one 'chores' to complete (well not literally). pack my room, meet people, meet relatives that i have never meet since i was 16years old, go to temple, pray, etc....these are chores that i relunctantly had to do... why can't i just continue with my personal life, doing things that i like, and being alone... i am in a phase where, i do not like to talk.... i don't mind sms, or msn messaging... but there are times where i just want some "CELINE" time, all to myself.... so shoo away people... shoo away errands and chores... let me enjoy my holiday the way i like it...

discovery!!!

heehee... ransacking my cupboard at 3am... guess wat i found.. my collection of unused calenders (they are far too precious to be hanging on the wall, they are just preserving in plastics in my cupboard). They are mainly ballet ones, which frens had bought for me over the years.. i found one, 2002 calender, published by Dance Books, featuring dancers from the Royal Ballet. How fantastic, there was a brilliant picture of ed!!! and pic of roberto bolle, alina, tamara, etc.. it was a fantastic discovery at such a time... i am so happy..hahahaha this is the picture of ed, which i found in the calender.. INDULGE, people.. INDULGE indeed...

Equilibrium - 2002

Just finished a magnificient film on telly, Equilibrium (2002). This is the sypnosis: In a futuristic world, a strict regime has eliminated war by suppressing emotions: books, art and music are strictly forbidden and feeling is a crime punishable by death. Cleric John Preston (Bale) is a top ranking government agent responsible for destroying those who resist the rules. When he misses a dose of Prozium, a mind-altering drug that hinders emotion, Preston, who has been trained to enforce the strict laws of the new regime, suddenly becomes the only person capable of overthrowing it. Christian Bale seemed to developed his character of Patrick Bateman from American Psycho (2000), by maintaining the essence of an icy cold killer, and adding more fighting stunts, which i thought put Matrix to SHAME SHAME SHAME. The battle choreography is inspired by chinese kungfu, and japanese samurai fighting, with the use of new-age weapons. This can be a rather disturbing film, difficult to understand in the beginning, but it begin to make sense at about 30 mins later. All the stunts are done without wires, all flips and leaps were done with a trampoline. Highly impressive. Invincible John Preston (Bale) was dressed all suavely and looked exceptionally sharp. It seemed to me, Christian Bale's preparation of Batman was properly prepared with American Psycho and Equilibrium. Definitely recommend this film to BOYS, GUYS, MEN... the fighting scenes were done with style and swiftness. My jaw almost dropped when they show the 1st and 2nd fight scenes. Unfortunately, becos of the plot, there is quite a long wait between the fights. There are some smaller fight scenes, but the last scene was the best. Look out for the lines that were used. Wit, and charm. Equilibrium is the bridge between American Psycho and Batman.

yums to the tums

finally, after 3 years.. i finally got my tums tums to some yums yums... hahahaha... nonya, the restaurant is singaporean operated, by christina ong's princess, melissa. the food proved to be as authentic as it could have been... we (my parents) and i had
laksa (long awaited), har-jiong kai aka prawn paste chicken, and prawn curry... it was yums to the tums.. parents came to visit, for my convocation.. brought them to places that i always wanted to go for food, but never able to bear to part with the cash... and if i did i will probably just reprimand myself for being a spoilt princess for having a luxury lifestyle...

short encounter

was at the opera house again today for a ballet class, as i was leaving the building, i hop on to the lift alone. and the entire place was so big, i was unsure of which level was it to get out of the building. i ended on the Stage Level, and apparently that wasn't right.. ivan putrov and bennet gartside were transporting their ballet trunks (in preparation for their madrid tour) in the opera house on a sunday...well, ending up with ivan putrov, principal dancer of the royal ballet in the same lift. was awkward in a way, cos, there was there uncomfortable silence. i broke the ice, and ask how was he (gosh, i was shocked by my bravery), and asked if he has recovered well. he responded readily, and we end up talkin bout his injury, which coincidently, same as mine, an anterior crucciate ligment reconstruction in the knee (ACL). chat went quite well, i guessed, i bet he couldn't wait to get out of the lift and away from tis pyscho bitch who asked him questions... but i dun really care, i just took it, as a normal thing to do, to ask how was his injury, and wish him well. the thing is, i could easily strike a conversation with anyone from royal ballet, i think.. but not for.. ahem ahem... *wink wink*

rISE & fALL oF sT gEORGE

england lost to the portugese in yesterday's match... personally i thought the argentinian referee was bitter about his country's lost to germany the previous day, and he was exceptionally tough on the english... during the penalty kick in the final moments, i thought that the goal keepers were the ones who had the most pressure...his team depend on him, his boss's paycheck depend on him, his country depend on him.. his 2 hands, feet and body... so much stress and pressure on the poor guy i thought out loud... then a gentleman beside me, responded, "Don't have to feel sorry for him (the goal keeper), he earns 20,000 pounds a week!" i was like, "really?" oh, alrite then... no lost here... but when the portugese scored their final goal, i thought england went into a silent mourn... the atmosphere was dampened and heavy... to me, it was an experience that i have never felt before, the patriotism in the people for the people...
england may have defeated portugal in the war, but the lost their sport to the latter...
