today... a book and the sky...

Just completed a book... am a well notoriously slow reader... but terribly pleased that i finished this wonderful book given to me by Val. Thank you for sharing this book with me, val. 15 Days for the whole book.. terribly pleased... and proud of myself.. hahaha.. Arrogance aside, this book is utterly romantic, and very very endearing.... its a 'feminine' book i think.. well.. partly the reason that i think men are rather cold and heartless, and impatient... and lack of attention.. hence they probably won't make it through this modern fairy tale... yes yes.. tat's the 'feminist' side of me speaking... can't wait for the movie to be out in 2008!!!
i thought i take a picture of the sky outside my window after i finished the book.... gloomy, dark as it looked, and cold and lonely it feels....

a dear loss.... *sobsob*

Apart from the 60 to 99mph wind, and the down-casting day in london... one felt that there was a deeply darkened cloud circling above our hearts and our heads... i cannot think of another word to describe how sad the day looked Attended a funeral today... what a terrible loss... vicky (or victoria), was a dear friend i met while i was working in Giorgio Armani. This petit, lovely lady was full of warmth and love. She was the only friend i had who communicated with me in Teochew. A native from Malaysia, with childhood and family in Singapore, Vicky came over to London in the 1960s, to study dress-making/fashion/couture. She stayed here ever since. I only knew her for 3 years, but she has touched me so much. Every time we chat, i felt a great sense of familarity, and closeness, despite only seeing her couple of times in a month, or sometimes even lesser... we always talk about food, especially the ones she greatly missed... each time i see yong tau hu, and fish soup noodles, i will think of her.... She reminded me so much of my late grandmother (who was also very dear to me). I do not think i bear to write on more... as i think i have cried enough... i prepared myself not to cry too much, but when the service started, and i saw the tributes left by her loved ones, and her husband, i couldn't stop those tears from falling... A fantastic woman, who is absolutely selfless and constant giving and giving and giving.... she will be deeply missed by all...
at the funeral, in worchester park, many of my old colleagues turned up to pay their respect too. In a way, i was pleased that we have each other to hang on to for support, physically, mentally and emotionally. I believe, it had brought me closer to some of them, and we learnt something today from our loss. Looking at Vicky, she taught us that we should learn from her, her selflessness and her ever-giving nature, and highly positive and encouraging personality. Vicky worked harder than any one 3 or 4 times younger than her. she dreamt of retiring with her husband in Singapore (where they were planning to buy a place these past months). All these hard work, but there was not enough time left for her to enjoy, she left too soon... far too soon.... Bless her soul..

the little angels

had a terribly long day today... but it was an inspiring day, nevertheless... in the first class i was teaching today.. (it's my 3rd day at work), and the kids were in Year 2, meaning they are only 6-7 years old.. some were quite cheeky, and some were like angels... after that very class, when the students said thank you to the pianist, and thank you to the ballet teacher, one little girl ran up to me and gave me a hug and said THANK YOU! awwww... so sweet... and when i went to their canteen, i saw a group of Year 1 (5-6 years old), and they were halfway through their lunch break. and one girl stroke my hand and said, "Hello" and another perched over to give me a hug, just to say "Hello"... Awwww... these sweeties are really lovely and sincere... wait till one gets them in class when i am screaming my lungs out at them... (well, it doesn't always happen!) heehee...

yesterday's demonstration & today's celebration

pop onto my feet today and bravely managed my way through the ridiculous crowd at Trafalgar Square... all these effort to get a feel of the 'Russian' air.. heehee... It was the Russian Winter Festival, to kick off their New Year... got a couple more pictues on my RANDOM site... The place was packed with everyone.. despite the breezy weather... lurve these matryoshka dolls.. aren't they just simply divine!!!heeheee...

well, yesterday.. i was at London Coliseum, where I was greeted by a group of anti-BNP (British National Party).. well BNP is basically claimed that they are working towards an All-White Community.. erm..being deeply inexperience in politics, i am not going discuss my trival comments here.. basically, one principal dancer from English National Ballet happened to be a memeber of the BNP, and these protesters are not happy... see.. simple explanation... anyway... being a 'tourist' it was an eye-opener, and thrilling experience.. i thought it was 'fun' but.. not to forget i am rather weird.. anyway.. moving on..
i went into a 'posh' stationary shop in the West End.. and came upon a get well card, which i was about to buy.. but thought i can't bear to look at the hairy legs on the cover, but simply adore those adorable bunnie slippers.. heehee.. so i took a picture of it... *naughtynaughty*
well... have been a terribly good girl, and been keeping to my words (almost) heehee... and i made myself some fresh and healthy soup for dinner... ingredients: fish stock, broccoli, spinach, chestnut mushrooms, crabsticks, minced pork, red onion, black pepper and salt, yes yes..all these good stuff will hopefully make me live 3 mins longer :p *grinz*

writing urge...

i had an urge... an urge to write a short story about my friend... heehee.. yes... i penned my thought down that i am gonna write a small book about my friend... we shall see...

6 Hours

yes, 6 HOURS! that's the time it took me to write 2 reviews and updated the pictures on my ballet blog... you guys better click on this link now IS THIS A THREAT? DAMN RIGHT IT IS!!! heehee... my hard work.. *sob sob*

i see 'YOU' everyday

"YOU" refering to my wallpaper on my desktop... which i religiously switch on to check my emails, blog and do other boring, geeky stuff.. hahahaha...
it has a been weeks already... can't really remember when exactly i changed it... am just guessing that it was post-christmas... i changed my wallpaper from this: i sense my ed-fad is beginning to fad.... heehee... a good sign??? maybe.. maybe because the lack of him dancing in most of the recent productions by the royal ballet.. hmmmf.. nevertheless.. i thought its time to put some color on my mac... hence i changed to tis: i quite like my current wallpaper... very odd expression from Corey Mixter (from First Hour Movies.com), but thought the clear blue sky and the grass had such vibrant definition...

The Answer... Steven McRae...

do not know how to start today's entry... well.. randomly... i guess..
anyway.. today, on my way to central london, i got off at heron quays to get the jubilee line from canary wharf, well.. guess who's filming at heron quay.... The Answer... erm... i dun mean tat i am giving the answer, but i was refering to the band, The Answer... Well, I never heard of their music before, but they have a website, so click here if u are interested.. THE ANSWER Well, according to Wikipedia, this band is voted as Best New Band in 2005 by the Classic Rock Magazine...well, anyway... that happened earlier part of the day... during mid day... i was exhausted from moving some of my books from her place, which I've left most of my stuff for storage in summer last year.. and had to dash to the Opera House to catch The Nutcracker... right, to begin with, the ultimate reason for my visit to watch this evergreen ballet was purely for 2 dancers, Steven McRae and Laura Morera. Damn... Steven McRae definitely make my trip, and my effort of standing throughout those 100 minutes worthwhile! My goodness, those jumps, those landings, and those fantastic extensions.... but i had to admit, he really went over the top with the acting...hahahhaa... and i think he knows how good he is that, he brought up the notch and camp it up. during his mime in Act 2, gosh... it was pure VANITY!!!! but i LURVE it.... hahahaha... i simply can't put any words down to describe this incredible artist, but a phenomenon like him, will constantly amaze me and the millions of audiences, effortlessly, i suppose...
i think, i have a 'big' thing about campness.. the campiness one is, the more i like it.. hahahaha... oooooo... camp people are great fun!!!! the funnie thing, one of my teacher from school, once put on a music and said, "Celine, this is your type of music, it's so camp!" not that she is refering that i am camp or anything like tat, but i guess it seemed rather obvious that i do have a soft spot for camp stuff... heehee... which explains the fag hag theory in me.. hahahaha...

NEW NAIL for a NEW YEAR

a new nail for the new year.. indeed indeed... don't want to gross u out.. but its so typical of me, isn't it.. hahaha... but isn't it appropriate, to 'kick' off the new year with a new nail... yes.. this big nail came off just few a couple of days ago... i thought it will take ages for it to drop off, but it didn't, it only took 4 months or so... (usual cases it probably take 9 months??? i think) it was painless and smell of peanut butter.. heehee.. i thought i post it as a small picture, to prevent anyone from feeling sick..

a moment..catching up... a favor

tis was taken last year... couple of days before Val headed back for the Far East... there she was watching Little Britain as guest on Russell Brand Show.. i thought the reflection on the roof of Nat's Kitchen was nice, and wanted to capture our (val and i) moment together, of watching on of our favourite program together.. on YOUTUBE... clearly... a digital camera failed to do wonders.. *sigh*....
last night... i managed to catch up with some friends... Laycheng visited london with her partner, Luther. Along with Yu Kim, we met up for some drink and organic carrot cake in Angel...Yu Kim insisted that she should take a picture of herself drinking some German beer... and a picture of the three of us.. which is rather a rare opportunity... mind you, we are all from Temasek Poly... heehee.. Laycheng as my senior, and Yukim's my junior... heehee... and just for Joe... tis is your request:his 'punk/mat/rock look for Club 21 dinner and dance party... i told him.. it was an overly dated version of punk.. hahahah... it looked so 80s... but.. hahahaha GOOD EFFORT yeah...

last hours of '06, first hours of '07

spent my new year eve and new year day over at Louisa's and Eresh's place in Chafford Hundred, Kent... Had a marvellous time...
well, here i am.. waiting for my train (c2c) to Chafford Hundred from Limehouse station...Once i got there.. i was amazed at Eresh's collection of 'poison', which i thought it will probably be Janie's heaven.. hahahaha.. they can be drinking buddies i thought... we started with some Bacardi then Sambuca, which for me, who is a novel drinker, is absolutely shite at it... it has a strong taste of liquer, which i thought tasted like cockroaches...
Next up, we had white wine, from this giant blue bottle.. it was deadly.. by then, i was almost bongos... hahahaha... we had it with one of my favourite english food... 'crispy duck' from a chinese takeaway.. yes, i said it is 'english food' because, i can't find it in proper chinese countries... they simply do not exist.. just like singapore noodles, they exist everywhere, except the country of SINGAPORE.. hahahah then, as i was going trigger happy with my tipsy stage... i managed to capture a lurvely picture of the happie couple.. awwww.. well, at that moment, Eresh was busy shredding the duck... oh.. the thought of crispy duck made me crave for some now.. yums.. and about seconds before midnight... we hurried to the bedroom upstairs, facing the roofs of many other houses, to enjoy the view of some home-safe fireworks... i may not be able to capture the beauty of the fireworks, but i quite like the result of my slow-shutter-almost-drunken-shape camera skills... well, i like it.. so i would like to keep it this way *blech* at this point... i wish my loved ones were around me... missing the hugs to invite the new year... although i wasn't exactly sure the significance of giving a hug to invite the new year... but basically i like hugs anyway....
eresh and i stayed up till 5am.. while the sleeping beauty louisa hit the sheets at about 1 ish i think.. (well done her..)
the following morning, i was lucky to avoid a hangover... but i still have a super-thirsty taste in my mouth... i couldn't resist taking a picture of those legs... aren't they to die for????
As Eresh was busy gourmet-ing his chicken lasagne, louisa brought me around her garden for a short tour... it was a new garden which they made months ago... awwww and they even have a little Bird Cafe, for the tired birdies to stop by for a cuppa... heeheee.. i wonder if those birdies are toilet-trained...
and a view in their garage... well.. look more like a gym to me... and after lunch.. it was off back to london for me... i was so tired that day... *yawn yawn* and not to forget.. i was so cold...
